Little Big Steps are excited and honoured to be one of the Telethon 7 grant awardees for 2024.
‘Telethon is dedicated to transforming and positively impacting the lives of sick, vulnerable and disadvantaged children in Western Australia. Through the ongoing generosity of West Australians, this year Telethon supports more than 100 beneficiaries, delivering life-changing programs, purchasing equipment and funding medical research into childhood diseases.
Telethon has been created by and belongs to the community of Western Australia who over five decades have generously donated more than $605 million to ensure a better life for our children now and in the future‘.
The team at Little Big Steps look forward to working with the incredible staff and physiotherapists at the Perth Children’s Hospital again this year, building on the current programs that kicked off in 2023. These included (but not limited to) a ‘Running Group’ for kids aged 7-12 years of age & a ‘Gross Motor Skills Group’ for younger kids aged 4-6 of age.
The wonderful feedback received from kids and their families demonstrates that the Little Big Steps physiotherapist-supported exercise medicine programs are making a huge difference to the lives of kids undergoing cancer treatment.
