🏔️ Everest at the 1000 Steps
The Challenge
On Thursday 2 October, Little Big Steps Chair Omar de Silva will attempt something extraordinary: to climb the height of Mt Everest at Melbourne’s iconic 1000 Steps.
That means 31 ascents in one day – almost 9,000 vertical metres and more than 60,000 steps. It will take up to 20 hours of continuous climbing and descending.
Why It Matters
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, but kids don’t stop fighting when the month ends, and neither should we.
Every step of this challenge represents the toughest climb of all: the daily battle faced by children living with cancer.
Through this event, Omar aims to raise vital funds for Little Big Steps, helping provide physiotherapy and movement programs that keep kids active during and after treatment.
